IFD Mourns the loss of 51 Year member Donald Costello

The Irvington Fire Department is sad to announce the passing of 51 year life active member Donald Costello. During his service to the community Donald has held the position of Captain of Fire Prevention, teaching members of the community the lessons of fire safety and prevention. Irvington Wins 2nd Best Rescue!

On Saturday September 24th, the Irvington Fire Department participated in the Westchester County Volunteer Fireman's Association Convention parade in Hastings on Hudson. Irvington had 14 members in the line of march and won 2nd Best Rescue! Great job to those that helped make this a great day and for Hastings hard work and dedication on a successful convention!... Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman's Association Parade

On Saturday June 18th members of the Irvington Fire Department participated in the 127th Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman's Association parade in Lake George. Of the approximately 120 fire departments across the Hudson Valley that participated, the Irvington Fire Department won 3rd best non-regulation uniform (less than 14 members in the line of march). FAST Skills Training

Lieutenant David Dowd, June 14

On Tuesday June 14th members of the Irvington Fire Department conducted a refresher training session on FAST skills. Firefighters practiced self extrication as well as extricating other members in the event of an emergency.
