On January 21st, the Irvington Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a call for smoke in the residence on Cayuga Lane off of Taxter Road. Upon arrival 2nd Assistant Chief Dan Billings did what we call a 360 of the building. A 360 is a quick evaluation of the scene to see what we as firefighters are facing. Close Call

The Irvington Fire Department responded to a call for a fire on New Year's Eve morning. The home owners placed embers from their fire place on their deck the night prior. The Irvington Fire Department took delivery of their new KME fire engine just before Christmas. Members worked for approximately two years to identify the right truck for the Village of Irvington. The truck has a 750 gallon pump along with a foam tank. Live Fire Training

1st Assistant Chief David Dowd, November 28

On Tuesday November 20th, your volunteer firefighters went to the Westchester County Training Center in Valhalla to conduct live fire training. Members practiced on the propane prop. Firefighters were able to practice advancing a hose line to the seat of the fire, extinguishing the fire, pump operations and overall, working as a team to accomplish the task at hand. 1st Assistant Chief David Dowd, November 09

Last night at 11:56 PM your volunteer fire fighters were dispatched to the Saw Mill Parkway North at the I87 exit for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival the chiefs identified 3 patients that would need to be evaluated and transported to the hospital.
